Budongo forest is located in the western part of Uganda, a short 3 hour drive from Kampala, and is a part of Murchison falls national park, conservation area. Besides being the biggest Mahogany forest in entire East Africa, it is also the forest that has the largest number of the endangered primate specie, the chimpanzee, throughout Uganda. The forests habitat more than 600 Chimpanzees and because of this, a guided tour where you trek chimpanzees, is the most popular attraction in this forest. The forest also offers guided walking safaris, which its increasingly popularity can be attributed to the fact that it continues to be the only naturally grown forest in Uganda.
